Stan and I attended the Before I Do Workshop last Saturday, November 14, at the Renaissance 2000 Lobby. It was indeed a great experience especially because it was our first time to attend wedding-related workshop. The basic goal of the workshop is to preserve the marriages especially here in the Philippines. All lectures were based on Biblical Principle. We covered 5 topics: (1) God's design for marriage, (2) Roles of Husband and Wife, (3) Financial Stewardship, (4) Conflict Resolution and (5) The five languages of love.
Stan and I participated in the couple's discussion after every topic and shared it to our group mates, who happened to be co-w@wies. We were both open with each other, raising our concerns for every topic and come up with a solution for it. There are also prizes given to couples who participate and freebies at the end of the workshop. I got 3 books and a free prenuptial pictorial from Imagine Nation.
The workshop was indeed a blessing. Thanks to John & Monique Ong, Imagine Nation and the other organizers of the event. Special thanks to the speakers: (1) Edric & Joy Mendoza - God's Design for Marriage, (2) Manny & Lisa Manansala - Roles of husband and wife, (3) Ariel & Karen Atendido - Conflict Resolution and (4) Hans Montenegro - Financial Stewardship.
Yes, there is no perfect marriage or a perfect partner. But if we allow God to be part of our marriage, surrendering everything to Him, everything will fall into its proper place. It may still be a roller coaster ride but at the end of the day, what God has put together no man can put asunder.
